Leilani Munter

In honor of Women’s History month, we at Advantage Automotive Analytics would like offer a tribute to some of the outstanding talent and success of women in the automotive industry.

 
Leilani Munter is a 43-year-old race car driver and environmental activist. She is an ARCA Racing Series competitor while advocating environmental stewardship. The biologist and lifelong vegetarian has worked as a photo double for Catherine Zeta-Jones, lobbied on Capitol Hill for environmental change, exposed the cruelties of Japanese dolphin hunting, and has even set-up solar panels on the roof of her home so that they can charge her electric Tesla Motors Model S.

Sports Illustrated named Leilani as one of the top female race car drivers in the world, Glamour Magazine has called her an “Eco Hero,” and ELLE Magazine awarded her its Genius Award in 2012 for being an all-round awesome environmentalist and leader. She likes to blog for the green section of the Huffington Post, serves as Ambassador to the National Wildlife Federation, and relishes in the title of being the No. 1 Eco Athlete in The World, according to the Discovery Channel.
